This fun project was the brainchild of one of the kids at Playful Factory Camp. We did not have all the supplies needed to prototype the idea at Camp, but I have since built several. It is a fun toy and hopefully this video tutorial will help you build your own.
LITTLE MONSTERS EVERYWHERE!!!!! We each got to build our own plush monster puppet. We also learned different types of puppets, including; shadow puppets, stick puppets, and hand puppets. They all look awesome!
I am sure you have heard the saying, "practice makes perfect"... Well, this week at Creativity Camp we put this axiom to the test as we prototyped toys using cardboard. We learned that good ideas turn into fun toys as we build with our hands. Check out the cardboard instruments and giant marble run that we built together: here.
At camp this week we made an entire cardboard rockband. Pictures are coming soon, but while you wait here is a little tutorial on how to make your own cardboard guitar at home.
Here are some photos from our first week of Creativity Camp here.
We had our first day of Creativity Camp yesterday! It was a blast! We learned that your brain is your best toy. It can imagine and design anything, you just have to train it correctly. We also learned how paper can be turned into awesome toys, including paper craft and origami. Here is a simple tutorial of one of the projects we did yesterday, Origami Baseball Hat: (next time I make a tutorial video I will make sure to wake up a little bit first) Tomorrow is the first day of Camp out in Gilbert and I am excited. I will post some pictures of all the Camps at the end of the week, so parents and readers can check out all the fun that we get to have at Playful Factory's Creativity Camp. Make your own origami baseball hat and post the picture as a comment to this post! I would love to see it.
This is my 100th post... For the past while I have had great expectations for this day! I envisioned giving away 100 of my favorite toys for free... along with sending 100 of my favorite people to Disneyland... Alas, here I am barely able to find time to write 100 words for a post. (Playful Factory hardhat) Although I am not able to celebrate the way I have envisioned, I am very excited to announce a great centennial giveaway. Due to an anonymous sponsor, one child will get to attend Creativity Camp on a full-ride scholarship. (Creativity Camp under construction) If you are a kid, or know of a kid, that would really enjoy attending Creativity Camp, but for whatever reason will only be able to attend with the help of some financial assistance, please write to email@example.com and tell me why you want to come to the camp. I am excited to help these kids discovering their potential through play... Spread the word!
