Monster Mash Halloween Bash Report
Designed by Sally
The Monster Mash Halloween Bash party was a total hit!
The kids had so much fun and it was a blast for me to have Playful Factory - Monster Lab
as part of the celebrations. Twenty customized plush monsters in two hours... not to shabby.
My wife and family helped so much to get the kid's monsters designed, prepped and sewn. It was a fast paced crazy work environment, but very suiting for the Halloween holiday spirit.
, the kids took washable colored markers and drew a picture of what they wanted their monster to look like. I showed them one example of a finished plush monster and then sent them off to design design design. I reminded them that it was okay to draw another monster picture if they wanted to explore different designs, but they were all very happy with their first iteration (there maybe something to learn there).
, an adult helped them decide on the specifics by asking more direct questions, such as, "I see your monster has four arms... what color would you like those arms to be?". For certain drawings this part of the process was a bit like being a forensics expert, trying to extrapolate something from a few scribbles, but they did an excellent job interpreting.
, it was time to cut and sew... due to the time constraints I was whizzing. Usually I am a methodical and systematic designer that likes to take my time getting things right, but there was no time for that. We whipped through close those 20 monsters in no time... or at least record time for me 🙂
The creatures turned out great and the kids were thrilled to have their very own Monster Mash party favor to take home and enjoy. My niece and nephew that were at the party took their monster to bed with them to help project them from bad monsters. That makes the sore back and cut fingers worth all the effort.
More pictures will be available in the gallery later today.
